This all began as a documentary. It is coming eventually to somewhere. I swear. It is just going to be longer than expected. It is entitled "My Knees Hurt", hence the MKH.
The general public still views Skateboarding as "youth culture"....the men and women in this documentary are doing all they can to obliterate this stereotype.

This will not be your typical skateboard movie, it won't have trick, after trick, after trick, instead it will focus on the riders, who they are and why they skate, with a little history thrown in because these stories are just too rad to ignore. These aren't your stereotypical skaters, they are businessmen, fathers, husbands, legends... all committed to skating.
Why this? I started skateboarding again a few months ago at 40 years old, after 15 years and 20 pounds away from seriously skating. I was pulled back in by the abundance of skate parks popping up all over Seattle. At first I thought I was an anomaly, an old man riding in a sea of kids with scooters and bikes. Then something odd happened, I started to meet more and more old guys like me, either back on their boards after years away, or simply still shredding after all these years. This got me thinking, this would be a great story to tell. The project has grown as more and more amazing characters have appeared (including some of my childhood heroes). It's taking longer than I expected, thanks to my dumb day job and various injuries, both mine and those of the subjects of this thing....but I'm plugging away all the time.
